I had gotten the jelly bean update from Samsung and now my phone just says connect to kies and it wont! The update stopped at 97% and then automatically stopped. I tried everything with kies and the update program. NO AVAIL!
I cannot connect to kies and the update wont finish no matter how many times. I have no idea what to do, the phone will go into odin mode but the reset buttons ive tried still do nothing. I just want my phone back.
You want this file, "SPH-D710BST_GC01_1014517_Stock_Restore.exe" for restore of the non rooted stock Jelly Bean for Boost.
That file is a self extracting archive with a self contained Odin installer with the ROM. Run it on your PC (windows) to extract file folder, then run the installer in the folder it creates. Then you need to put your phone into download mode, then connect it to the pc via the cable. when you see the com port on the installer light up, hit start.
Note: the instructions must be done in that order, and do not have kies running on your PC at the time you do this..
I updated my phone with no problems, but when I tried to update a friend's phone it got about 2% and then gave me an "Unexpected error. Stop download" message on my computer and wouldn't do anything else. Now the phone keeps coming up saying "Firmware upgrade error encountered. Use Kies recovery." I get this message when I turn it on with the vol - button (to do an update) too. Is this what you got and did the fix in the last post work for you?
I'm going to be working on the phone in the morning.
