if you are unlocked then you will need to use the captn's method to get s-off.
here is the guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html just skip the part about unlocking and getting recovery(if you have one) and go to the part where you need to lower the misc partitions.
