Root I need some advice!

I just got the Triumph two days ago, and i wanted to know whats the news with these roms? what do you guys use? I looked around and i dont need the hdmi or anything, i just want a good looking rom that works good, thanks

MTDEV latest CM7.2 release from 0926 is probably your best bet if you don't care about HDMI. To have a trouble free experience try not to restore apps with Titanium Backup as that seems to cause random reboots. I also experienced random reboots when lowering the clock to 61 but this can vary from phone to phone.

I agree, cm7 is very stable, cm9 is also very good looking but isnt as fast or stable as this, and theres no camera, so i recommend going with mtdev cm7

If you're looking to flash MIUI just for the interface style, know that you can run the 360 launcher on CM7, chose the MIUI theme and get similar results.

It boils down to personal preference . I have used all of the roms and right now I am really liking the miui the performance is great haven't had a lot of random reboots or anything like that.

The best Rom is Sharp if you want a quick locking GPS for the navigation app. It is the smoothest running for me and Ihave tried Muiu, 7,9 and 10.

Great ROM indeed . My GPS locks immediately on miui so I dunno what your issue was. But as far a a FULLY FUNCTIONAL ROM Sharp ROM is the way to go for sure.

Sharp rom is the most stability your gonna find on the triumph and has a cool look that no other rom has...but cm 7.2 is getteng better everyday...once our genius mtdev guys get through with it we may have fully opereational and customizable rom.

Thanks guys, i tried mtdev cm7 and i found it kind of slow, like music scrolling was really slow and glitchy, the gallery is a lot slower than the stock rom, and theres alot of glitches when i make calls, like it takes a while to turn the screen on when i take it away from my ear, any suggestions?

I must say, that's the first time I've every heard MTDEV-CM7 described as glitchy and slow.
Did you clear your caches and factory reset properly when you flashed it?

Ok I am a newbie as far as the android goes , I really like my MT but the storage issues are driving me nuts. what is the most stable ROM , I want something I can install and pretty much use as stock. I liked the B-ROM , looks very close to stock is it stable? I also like SHARP . what is FROYO?

I love MIUI 2.4.20 w/ mOCK kernel 1.7.14 running Smartass Governor v2. Smooth, Quick response & boot time. I use Rom Toolbox for the housework & cleaning. The new version has a task killer now! I have the stock launcher running the downloaded Golden Theme.
Very Nice!

Froyo is the flavor of Android. Here is a list of development.

Android (operating system) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also once you start taking CyanogenMod it works like this

CM6 - Froyo
CM7 - Gingerbread
CM8 - Was skipped due to the fact Google did not release Honey Comb
CM9 - Ice Cream Sandwich
CM10 - Jelly Bean

Any of the Froyo ROM's should be solid if you are shooting for stock. If you want more you will need to move up to a Gingerbread ROM be it CM7 or MIUI however HDMI does not work on those ROM's. If you want to push up to CM9 it too is a solid ROM but no HDMI or Camera, there is also a MIUI version as well but I believe it has other issues that have not been fixed like Netflix Streaming.

I've been using starship(cm7) and bkernel. It seems to have plenty of little tweaks and what not. It also looks amazing. I don't know how much you know about android, but my setup has quite a few cpu governers that can make the phone run way smoother and save battery life. bkernel and starship also have a bunch of tweaks to try and speed up data, gps, and other things, as well as save battery life.
