Android Enthusiast
It has been a long time since I installed a custom rom, here are my current specs (the reason it has been awhile is that what I have on here met all my needs but I am ready to move onwards and upwards)

  • system version 2.3.340.MB810
  • model number droid x
  • android version 2.2.1
  • baseband version BP_C_01.09.07P
  • kernel version 2.6.32.9, etc
  • build number Apex 1.4.0
  • eri veriom 5
  • PRL verion 52629
What I want is to play with the latest builds and I havent found a thread that goes step by step from where i currently am, i am hoping someone has the patience to write out a thread including all the links i will need:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

well you could go a couple of diff routes. Personally i would recommend you make a backup of your apps using TiBu and then SBF'ing to .602 then from there you can flash one of the newer Roms of your choosing.

A couple of things you need to know about Gingerbread

Z4root no longer is used to root it.
DroidX bootstrap will only work on it if you have USB debugging unchecked
A lot of people use Droid2 bootstrap. It works fine without having to do the above.
