Root I need some help to S-OFF my Desire

Not to be a dick or anything but I would recommend you to read a bit more about it here and at xda, unless you have a lot of time and nerves to fix things if it should go haywire. At least get familiar with adb and fastboot ;-)
But maybe I'm just too paranoid haha!

don't worry, it's not too complicated, but maybe you should start slowly and get used to it all. Use search on xda, there are threads where it is explained ;-)

ok but if i flash my nandroid from having custom partition sizes onto the bravo partition table it will actually work wont it?

No.

It works like this.

You create a file that maps out your partitions.

You then patch recovery so these partitions are seen as the layout. You than restore nandroid from before and patch boot of the rom so that the rom knows the same layout as recovery.

So if you use a hboot layout, then restore nandroid with a patched boot, your rom may well still think the partitions are custom.

Follwoing on from other contributers, this is fairly advanced. I dont think you're ready either.
