Help I need some help

I've had this phone for a while now and it's worked great, but lately it will freeze on the lockscreen and I will have to hold down the power button until it restarts. My phone is completely stock except for my keyboard, I use SwiftKey. If anyone has any suggestions please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Howdy rockstarr90. I'm wondering if you've done any cache clearing of apps/widgets lately because often slowdowns and freezes, crashes and battery drain can happen when the internal storage area gets loaded up with data.

Go into the Application Manager via Settings and touch each app's "clear cache" button (not "clear data" unless you want to reconfigure the apps/widgets). Then reboot.

Also it's not a bad idea to do a cache wipe from the recovery menu (find your recovery menu button combination on this page: All Android Recovery Combo Keys: Samsung Devices).

This is typical of the phone. This issue has happened to me on stock, CM10, and ParanoidAndroid so I'm not sure its a software issue. It frustrated me immensely. I'm just glad I figured out that I could hold the power button down because before that I would pull the battery which was a hassle when I had the extended battery and case on it.

I now have the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE and it doesn't have that issue.

I don't believe there is a known fix for the freezing issue at the time. Maybe someone will come across one soon. But you're not alone.

Happened to me on PA and CM10. I think some phones have it some don't cause I've seen this issue brought up several times and I've also seen people say they haven't experienced it. For example.. ;)
