Root I need some serious help with ClockWork Mod!

How much space is your Micro Sd Card? 8gb or more? I recommend having atleast 1-3gb's free for TiB and your Cwm backup. Cwm will literally backup EVERYTHING. If your phone screws up and wont boot, just turn it off with a battery pull. Then hold the power button and down button til recovery comes up. Go to Backup and Restore and hit Restore and select the first option. Also; Use the menu key to scroll down, home key to scroll up, back key is back, and search key to make a selection.

And making too many backups will eventually cause a space issue if your using cwm5 but cwm6 makes backups smaller after you make your first one anyways. After you've made a backup do whatever you want to your phone with root apps. Stay away fron Rom Manager and Beats Audio Installer!!!

My SD card doesn't have much space. Speaking of which, how can I erase an app off of it? What I'm gonna do is simply just back up Angry Birds. Everything else, I can download again. Should I backup my root apps like Ministro, Poot, and Root Explorer?

Erase an app off the SD card? As in a titanium backup, or something you moved to the SD card with the settings? With tiB, just open it, select backup/restore, scroll to the app press it and select delete on the bottom, then you can uninstall the app by selecting uninstall. If your talking about an app you moved to the SD with the app manager, just uninstall it or move it back to the phone.

Backup root explorer, poot and ministro aren't needed if you are rooted and you got cwm installed.

OK, it's time to man up. I backed up my AngryBirds and Root Explorer.. Gonna run the apk and rename that file. Then Quick Boot into recovery. Wish me luck guys!

So I tried to run the app and it said it wasn't compatible with my verson of Ministro. I can't update it. Anyone?

Go to settings > manage apps > tab to "all" > select ministro and uninstall. Go to the playstore and reinstall Ministro II, not Ministro.

Make a backup first before doing anything! If you buy Rom Toolbox Pro, you can use it's Boot Animation feature and it comes with several like 50+ animations to choose from. Just don't use the tablet ones. Another thing you might like now that your rooted and all are two apps I use "Font Installer" (also included in Rom Toolbox Pro btw) and "AdFree" fonts of course just change every single word you will ever see in any app unless it uses a custom font. And AdFree will literally remove atleast 80% of ads from everything :D

Did you do this st8 from your phone? Cause I'm in the same boat you are. I wanna do it but I don't wanna mess something up lol

Rooting, installing cwm, and a custom rom can ALL be done with using ONLY your phone. And the first 2 I mentioned can be done with apps that you download and install manually. Just clearance for everyone who reads this.

I have a LG OE S/W version vm696zv5 and I have it rooted, but when I tried to install cwm using the guide by Artine, I get stuck in fastboot. So I used the qpst memory debug app to reset my phone and tried giantpune's noob cwm installer, which then says backing up existing recovery...file doesn't look like an android boot partition cwm not installed. So now I have no recovery and whenever I reboot, I have to reset with qpst mem debug app. Any thoughts or solutions???

Make sure you meet all of the prerequisites and typed everything correctly exactly as shown. O's are actually 0's (zeroes), and so forth. There are also some spaces. If you've accidentally overwritten or deleted something incorrectly by way of a typo or not the correct case (ie: CAPITAL vs lowercase, as *nix is very picky, and as a result Android is picky as well), that could get you into fastboot easily. If you've reset your OE by way of the get-out-of-fastboot method provided in the FAQ-Guide, then proceed from the beginning again making sure you meet all of the prerequisites listed, and following the guide precisely. Hopefully you have your OE rooted via giantpune's method. And if you are and are still having trouble (note: make sure you have Ministro II from the play store installed, not Ministro, and that it can update), then try jcase's method of rooting.

Someone else came to me with a similar situation recently and once they'd gone back over the process and made sure there were no typos, he was able to successfully install CWM and get a custom ROM installed. You should be fine :D

Thanks, I found the problem, it was a different md5 sum. I re-downloaded the .bin file and double checked the md5 and it was good. Followed the rest of the directions and got cwm installed successfully!!! Thanks again!!!
