Help I never got the notification to update!

I was wondering if i am the only one that hasn't gotten the notification about the new update? About a month ago I did the froyo update from the samsung website that later got pulled.
 
Try updating your Apps. (Go to the market, settings, My Apps) Then you may get the Sprint Wing at the top toolbar with the notification that the update is ready. That's what I had to do.
 
I never got the notification either. I go to the market every couple hours to see if I can force the update, but nothing. I'm on EB13 (from Samsung's Website) with one click root.
 
Could be because Sprint has once again, stopped pushing 2.2.1 out to the Epic, do to numerous issues, like fast battery draining, sound distortions. I have a new phone being sent out to me, and I was advised that if it has the same issues, to take it in, and have it set back to 2.1, until the next release is sent out.
 
I got the EB13 OTA and haven't received the C05 either. Maybe it's a coincidence, but in anticipation of EB13, I kept the 4G on, but now I'm just leaving the phone on 3G. Because the Sprint network 3G speeds are so poor, it may not think I have enough bandwidth for the update. Usually, my 4G is only as fast as other carriers' 3G. This is in an urban area which supposedly has very good coverage, but judging from similar complaints I've seen, I believe what I'm experiencing is common with Sprint.

So, judging by all the dysfunctionality caused by these updates, it may be prudent to leave 4G off unless you absolutely need it, not only to save your battery, but to protect your phone!
 
Over the past few days I had an icon on the message bar (or whatever you call it) at the top of the screen, it was a white circle with two black arrows inside of it in a circular formation. I called sprint to ask them what it was and they said its the update trying to download. So I waited up until last night and it still didn't come in yet. I was on the 2.2.1 froyo DK28 update and rooted. So I decided to return the phone to full stock on DI18 2.1 firmware using odin. Not even 2 full minutes after the phone rebooted the EC05 update came thru and downloaded and went thru the update process. It may be a fluke on my end, but my guess is the OTA update is looking for the stock firmware to proceed with the install. So if you guys want the install now, then that might be the solution to your problem of not receiving the update yet. Hope this helps!!! Let me know what your findings are.

That wouldn't explain mine - I'm completely stock.
 
I got mine last night as well. I was (and still am) running EB13 downloaded from Samsung's site. I did root my phone, but nothing else. The update started and then I got a screen with a triangle and an exclamation point. It just sat there so I rebooted and still am on EB13.

I guess me being rooted had something to do with the update not working?? There is a guide out there (I think on Android Central) on how to put a rooted version of EC03 on the phone, so looks like I will go that route.

If your rooted and deleted any of the Sprint bloatware then it will not update. And if you want a rooted version of EC05 then i suggest Frozen 1.1.0.

I didn't delete any of the Sprint stuff, I just rooted... Thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully I will have time this weekend to play with the phone.
