I was in cwm so i thought and did reboot to install the shinjuitsu rom and some how i wiped the carrier software now when i restart the phone it just says zte. i can get into the android revcovery and it shows the rom and my other folders but no clockwork backup.

PLEASE HELP

Thanks in advace

wait, you did what?? did you actually go into the backup and recovery menu and make a backup before whatever you did? because without making a backup, there wont be one there. it doesnt do it for you. your only option at this point seems to be installing a new rom, and make sure you dont accidentally download an update instead of a full rom. on awesome android updates are to be installed OVER the full original, just installing the updates themselves will do exactly what you have described

awesome android RC 1 has to be on the phone before installing either of the updates or it will just cause you issues

i have a back up but when i do down and power it wont go into cwm so i cant access the backup and when i try to reinstall the rom now it goes into android system recovery and i can't get it to recover.

Press UP+power (while off) to boot into CWM recovery.
DOWN+power does native screenshots (while power is on)

i went and bought another sequent at radio shack for $129 till i get my original fixed i emailed zte and am waiting for a response.

its down and power to get into recovery, also, what do you mean it keeps going into android system recovery? and i really hope you didnt tell them you cant get into clockworkmod because that voids your warranty

Umm.. I don't understand, cuz when I DOWN&POWER I get screenshots:confused:

That's what I thought too...there is a reboot widget on market that can reboot u into recovery also....off topic but just fyi it's holding ME over till Shin's next update lol

i mentioned nothing about cwm or rooting, jjust i was trying to to a factory reset through the volume down and power down buttons and stupidly hit carrier os wipe instead of factory reset so zte will honor my warrenty. and no i can't power/down to cwm.

when i do up/power i get FTM mode which when connected to the pc it comes up with the phone having the most current software.

When i do down/power i get android recovery instead of cwm

dear god i would hope that ztes stock recovery doesnt have a carrier/os wipe option, its bad enough it cant actually backup or recover anything lol. glad you got it worked out tho

But you did mention cwm,
You can't flash a custom rom if you're not rooted

Good thing ZTE is sending you a new beast tho!!!

no he did mention it to us, i thought that for a second too, he was responding to my comment about not telling zte those things because it voids your warranty

yes, bootloader mode is actually how i installed cwm. the fastboot method. the only requirement to get to bootloader/fastboot mode is root access

thank you again to everyone that has helped me with my problem.

I am fimiliar with android but not zte this is my first zte phone and i guessed i goofed up.

Ok, sorry again, what I meant was, in the case that the phone is not booting all the way, just Android recovery or ftm mode. Is it possible to boot into bootloader mode?

no there is no way to get into it through just stock recovery no, to my knowledge there isnt even a way to get straight to bootloader from cwm using the menus, that requires you to do a manual command through adb
