Help I seem to have lost Mobile Data - must cycle power all the time

Lately my phone seems to lose the capability to connect via Mobile Data (3G). Here's the scenario:

At home in the AM, connected to wifi, all fine.
Go to work (no wifi), the Mobile/3G doesn't seem to work because I can't connect to the internet or the Market. I get an error that says I need a data connection. The Notification bar shows "3G" with a checkmark underneath. If I turn Mobile off then on again via the widget, still no data connection. If I cycle power on the phone, then the "3G" comes up with the double arrows underneath and Mobile Data works.

Both of my Widgets for Mobile Data and Wifi are on this whole time.

Is this just the nature of buggy Android OS phones? Sorta like Windows PC, huh?

Could it be the widgets? I try to use them to save battery when I remember.

Thanks for any advice.
