OH NO!

I may have had a fatal brain fart here guys.

I was running 2.3.3 (on the version 4.5.573). I was deodexed and running NO ROMS, just a Black white and chrome (BWC) Theme which I got from this forum months back.

All I wanted to do was the real rooted GB from Verizon. (The 2 part file on my droid world....ya know the ones)

However I had to SBF to get back to 2.2.340 and then take that upgrade path.

Was I supposed to wipe data/cache and everything before SBFing? Because I DID NOT. I don't remember ever having to in order for this kind of thing to work.

HOWEVER, after SBFing (all went ok). MY PHONE JUST BOOTLOOPS. PLEASE HELP! It bootloops with the custom animation, but the standard white M logo. I think that is bad.

edit: I am attempting to re-flash the SBF again right now, but I don't think its gonna work.

Factory reset data wipe should fix it.

Yeah, not sure how I forgot about the #1 rule to rooting...."thou shalt not say your phone is bricked...cuz it isn't. Now calm down and press power+home."

Panic attack averted. Back to getting some more Gingerbread!

What happened here was the gb data is incompatible with froyo. And since the sbf doesn't touch data you have to clear it yourself. If you were going from stock froyo to stock froyo or stock gb to stock gb it would be ok.

All done, worked like a charm. Even the bone stock .596 file has noticeably smoother performance than the early GB leak I was running.

Are those two files odexed or deodexed? And does that even matter anymore if I am just gonna end up flashing a ROM/Theme?

Aggie i like this pic a lot better.

Socom it depends on which you chose, if you go back to where you downloaded the file it should have a link for odexed or deodoxed iirc. If it turns out you are not deodoxed dont worry, there is a zip around here that will do if for you.
