Nick888

Newbie
i recently installed ROM manager and im trying to flash the Eclipse rom but when i flash clockwork mod and reboot into recovery it just boots up my phone like normal. my phone is running rooted 2.3.4. im kinda a newbie at this stuff so please bare with me, thanks. -Nick

Well, Clockwork Mod doesn't work, you have to use Bootstrap. You install the system recovery apk, plug your phone into the wall (not the computer,) run the app, click the install recovery option, then click the recovery mode option.

okay so. i tried flashing the eclipse rom and my phone got messed up. im trying to sbf it but my phone will not turn on at all by itself. when i pllug it into the computer the led light comes on green. thats it, it doesnt show up in RSD lite so i cant sbf! i need help please!!

Nick, there are a lot of possibilities. I'm wondering what tutorial/instructions you were following when you started to run into problems.

Over at XDA there is a tutorial on the sbf process for the X2, which includes this set of instructions. Look at it carefully, as I think you may have missed a step or perhaps took a step out of order:

1. Reboot your computer and your phone after downloading and installing everything and before you go to flash the SBF file. Use 7-zip to extract the SBF file...

2. Once you have rebooted your computer, go ahead and start RSD Lite and point it at the SBF file and plug your USB cable into your computer ONLY!

3. Turn your phone off.

4. Turn the phone on by pressing and holding the POWER AND VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see FASTBOOT. Press volume down until you reach RSD and press volume up once.

5. Plug your phone into your computer and wait until you see it in RSD Lite and click Start.

6. Your phone will reboot when the process is complete. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE FROM UNTIL THE COMPUTER UNTIL THE PROCESS IS COMPLETE.

7. If the phone boot loops pull the battery and boot into the stock recovery by pressing and holding power and volume down until the phone says FASTBOOT, once the phone says FASTBOOT, press volume down until you see ANDROID RECOVERY, once you see ANDROID RECOVERY, press BOTH the volume up and the volume down buttons. You will see the familiar triangle with the exclamation point and the Android. At this point press volume up and down simultaneously again and select

okay i did that. but i plug my phone into the computer and all that happens is the green led light comes on and i hear my computer beep. the phone doesnt start up or anything. i plug it into the wall charger and it starts up but i go to RSD and it says the battery is to low to flash. how am i supposed to charge my battery the wall charger wont charge it! )':

yesterday i tried sbfing because my phone was bricked. so. i got RSD Lite the SBF file and the drivers. i plugged my phone into my computer to relise my battery is dead. so i cant sbf because my battery is dead! is there anyway i can charge my battery or put it into rsd mode? i plug it into my computer and the green led light turns on but the phone wont boot up! i plug it into my wall charger and it boots up but says that my battery is to low to flash! i NEED HELP PLEASE!

If you need to charge your battery I would suggest taking the battery to a place like Batteries Plus, or radio shack, or other type of electronics store to see if they have a charger that will fit it and let you charge it. You can buy this external charger here and charge it up and see if it will allow your phone to boot into RSD.

You might also try taking the phone and battery into a Verizon store and asking them if they might help you, they actually might. I would tell them something like "I was in the middle of a hard reset (or accepting the over the air Gingerbread update) and my battery was low and so it died midway during the reset and now I can't get the battery to charge long enough to perform the reset. Can you plug the battery in to a spare Droid X2 so that it can charge and I can finish doing the hard reset?" As long as you tell them nothing about SBF'ing or custom ROM or rooting see what they say. They may look at you sideways a bit or even suspect that you have tried to root it but since you are asking to restore it back to the original state they might help you.

Good luck!

Your phone came with a wall charger. Plug it in to charge for an hour or so and then get back to it at the computer later.

None of what you have done will prevent the battery from charging.
