I'm using mine as a Media Player. Put it in airplane mode, turn on WiFi and install TuneIn Radio, YouTube, VLC, etc. Lots of life left in this little guy. There are apps to convert phones into security cameras, etc. These make for great low powered appliances.

Sadly i think it is, ive tried every rom posted here, cant do much with a gingerbread based phone, I upgraded to the LG Tribute, still in the LG Family!

My Elite always had issues with data and voice, which I suspect is specific to my geographic area. Like others, I have upgraded to the ZTE Awe. I still check in here periodically, though. My Elite is now a dedicated media device, running Liquid Bear and Pandora.

Yeah, I still use my elite as a media device, but it has some severe wifi issues that prevent its use a lot. Seems to be across ROMs, though.

Basically, although wifi shows as connected, it stops working. Stopping & restarting and it works for a while. I've checked the advanced settings to ensure that I'm always connected, made no diff.

My Optimus V works much better and I generally use that, tolerating it's slow performance.

And, of course, like most, I've made the Awe my primary device.
