I Thought Apple Was Finished

Apple takes smartphone top spot from Google in U.S. - research

HELSINKI (Reuters) - Early success for the iPhone 5 smartphone has helped Apple to overtake Google's Android software in the United States, research firm Kantar WorldPanel said on Tuesday.

Apple's U.S. market share in the 12 weeks to October 31 more than doubled from a year ago to 48.1 percent, putting it within reach of the record 49.3 percent it managed in early 2012.

Android's share dropped to 46.7 percent from 63.3 percent, Kantar WorldPanel's data showed, but it continues to dominate in key European markets. The platform 74 percent market share in Germany and 82 percent in Spain.

Its combined share of the top five European markets rose to 64 percent, from 51 percent a year earlier, while Apple's share edged up by one percentage point to 21 percent.
Maybe the Mayans were right after all...

Not sure those numbers are 100% accurate, but even if they are it's only over a 12 week period. It won't last. Undoubtedly this was due to the iphone5 release, however the iphone5 sales have already slowed and have seen their peak selling days. This is only temporary and android will soon be at the top again. In the big picture (not a small 12 week period ) android is dominating and shows no sign of slowing down. The opposite could be said for ios. Don't believe me? Do a little bit of research and the evidence will be all over the place. Apple will still be a major player for quite sometime, however they are no longer top dog and chances are.. will never be again.
Even android is catching the apple dominated in the tablet market and they are doing it much faster than expected.
So keep suing everyone Apple, it's probably the best chance you have left.

Two takes from financial:
Apple's biggest problem

Why is Wall Street losing its appetite for Apple?

The stock is dropping. Could be end of year profit taking. Could be rivalry cutting into profits. Could be the phase of the moon.

Could be a cycle. IBM has mostly outsourced to India - no longer the company it was in its heyday.
Could be that their primary market is filled with customers who no longer have the luxury of buying costly playthings, and are spending on food clothing and shelter instead.

You need to remember that Apple got out of the productivity business years ago.

heres a note for apple....
stop wasting money sueing people and spend more money improving your product so its not a joke next time.. haha

Google makes the iPhone app, includes the turn by turn navigation and Street View, and makes it free. Meanwhile, Apple changes their port and charges $30 for an adapter. Just sayin.
