So, yeah, all of you who remember me know that I was big into the Galaxy Nexus. After the epic thread, I was in root/rom heaven with it. The Gnex gave way to the Note 5 what... three years ago. Due to knox, root was dead to me.

I took the plung and jumped in and bought a phone 350 off at Best Buy. I bought the Note 8. I have to say, tech has really evolved in the past three years, no? I bought my son the s8+ and my daughter the s8.

I suppose if I still had time to root, I'd have gotten the Pixel 2XL, but alas. Too busy. So, for those, here, who still remember me? I'm saying "hey!" and "I got a new phone and I like it.". For those who don't remember me? I'm the guy 4th down on "Most Post" .. I used to talk a lot and was mod here.

I know the time feeling: I do have a Pixel 2 and I've not even unlocked the bootloader (meaning this is already the longest I've had a phone without rooting).

Thanks for the kind word. So, yeah, my son got the S8+ in black and my daughter got the Best Buy blue color S8. Actually, I'm the only one who has the phone-in-hand. The 350.00 off sale at Best Buy cleaned out their stock, so theirs are due to arrive Dec 8th.

Yeah, I haven't rooted since Gnex. Didn't see the need and don't have the time. Be well!

Yeah, it is a good deal. If I want to upgrade, I pay off the rest of phone, upgrade and sell it. Not bad. Nowadays, do you feel the need to root?

Sometimes, mainly when I see how many ads there are flooding our screens (even though I use paid apps whenever available).

I've either become so desensitized to ads that I ignore them or I'm not loading ad-laden apps because I don't really see that being an issue for me on my un-rooted G6.

What's up my man! I have a N8 as well. Enjoy it! I'll say, I already shattered the screen, had to get it replaced, and now use a case.
