Help i tried to update my evo and an android with a exclamation point occurred

please help me my evo is rooted with unrevoked and i tried to update it today and it was midway through the reboot sequence when an android with a exclamation point popped up. can get it off this screen please help

You shouldnt accept updates when you are rooted. You will have to flash a stock ruu and return to stock.

Have you tried a battery pull? As sitlet said, you should never accept OTAs while rooted. If it didn't get too far, you're phone might still be bootable. Find out before starting over with a RUU.

I am rooted too, and I've been seeing the same thing. I've tried the update three times and got the android with an exclamation point each time. Luckily so far, pulling the battery and restarting brings it back to the original version.

I think I'll wait for the local genii to figure this out before trying again.

Don't accept OTAs when you're rooted! You're luck it hasn't actually broken anything (assuming it hasn't). Here is a thread we've got going on it:

You'll find a link to a flashable rooted version. Flash that, and you'll be good to go. Again, *never* accept an OTA when your phone is rooted.
