Root I wanna make ROMs (Learn)

I'm most likely going to get my Grandmas older windows XP computer soon and wipe the OS off it to install Linux Ubuntu on it so I can start making ROMs for the Admire So just to be sure, I need Ubuntu 12.04? Or do I need 10.04? Or should I get 12.04 then get VirtualBox for linux and put 10.04 in VB? Or what? I wanna be sure so I don't waste my time going to the library with my laptop and downloading something I don't need... So please, what is the best for GB 2.3.4?

Yeah thats what Im wondering because if I have the wrong thing I can easily change the os so its cool....I just wanna get started rom making

Where on the Ubuntu website is the download for 10.04? I can't find it anymore and I lost one of the 13-million discs I have made in the past, lol

Is that on 12.04 take took of the java repository lol and some other stuff but u could still get java lol
