I want iPhone 4

Apollos

Newbie
damnit I just watched the marketing video for the iPhone 4 and it is pretty sick!

I came back to Verizon last summer (because I was disappointed with AT&Ts service) and I had, in order, an HTC Droid Eris, a MotoDroid, and now I have the DInc. So far, the DInc is the only device that I personally feel holds a candle to the 3GS. So now that 4 is out...I am torn!

Somebody convince me that I should stick with Android...I really like Android but something about iPhone just set the bar for me.

Seems like you have already convinced yourself...the new iPhone looks to be a solid phone, IMO. Good luck and enjoy the new iPhone ;)

iPhone 4 will be a great phone. It is still on a terrible carrier and is locked down by Apple. If you either get great AT&T service in your area or don't care about your coverage, you can't go wrong either way -- Incredible or iPhone 4. If the iPhone 4 was 4G (which it's not), then it's a whole different ballgame.

The only way this becomes an actual question is if iPhone 4 came to Verizon. Thankfully, it won't.

yeah I will probably stick around just because AT&T truly sucks where I live...

I really have to wonder why Apple chose to not go to that market. They could sell 25% more iPhones easily.

Free yourself from the Matrix!! Live in Freedom!!! DROID!!
Na, do what you want, sounds like you're the type of person that is heavily swayed by the latest device on the market as you mentioned in your original post.(Eris, Moto, INC., etc.) Thus you my friend will never be satisfied with whatever choice you make for very long. Just something to think about. Good luck....

No.

MotoDroid was already out when I got the Eris. I got the Eris because I was switching from iPhone and didn't think the performance disparity was THAT horrible. But...it proved to be, indeed, horrible so I got the MotoDroid. Then the DInc came up which is essentially a larger Eris with a bigger engine. I like the best shit on the market, not the latest.

Samsung Galaxy S outperforms the new iPhone in every area so thats the best "shit" on the market.

But since your american you might have to wait longer for that so get a EVO

The latest in most cases is the best. Advancements in technology happen every few months...Droid yesterday, Incredible today, Shadow tomorrow. There is no way you can have the best on the market today and believe that it will still be the best in 6 months. Nothing wrong with an upgrade though...Most people wish they could do it that often.

iPhone still has a 3.5 inch screen after all this time. This is because the iPhone apps are hardcoded to look perfect for that one screen size. The problem is that perfect looking apps don't scale very well. They can't adapt.

HTC is gonna top it in 2-3 months.

Honestly tho, it has amazing hardware. Too bad the OS is ****ing boring.

Wait til they port FroYo to it.

Don't believe the marketing, that's just bullshit.

And anyway, how long did you have to wait from 3Gx to iPhone 4?

An Android phone with equal or better specs will be out within a few months.

regardless of the power of the hardware, iphone is still hampered by the lackluster of the "iOS"
regardless of the openness and amazing hardware, android still lacks some of the amazing apps and dev, and standardization compared to iphone

As a current 3GS owner who played with the EVO 4G earlier this week, I was hoping for Steve to pull some rabbit out of the hat with his announcement. Unfortunately, he did not. iPhone 4 was not enough to sway me from my Android aspirations. I look forward to see what else comes out by the end of my AT&T contract this July.

It puts the 3GS to shame.

I am glad they released this. Only going to make companies like HTC/Motorola/Samsung/SonyEricsson compete harder to make better phones. Especially since I was planning on getting a Gingerbread phone next year. Expecting that phone to make coffee for me lol.

The good features of android are always so darkened by all the problems it has for me. All the force closing, message deleting, random shut offs, bad touch screen...if you have all those problems I'd say go straight to iphone. As soon as iphone comes to Verizon my Droid is being packed up and thrown away

After seeing the FAIL on the Steve Jobs demo how can you say you want one? The damn thing didn't even work!

Later this year there will Android phones with dual core processors (not to mention Froyo and Gingerbread OS's) that will beat the iPhone 4 to pulp, so you may as well stick with Verizon and hope the HTC Scorpion comes your way.

That being said if you really like the iPhone OS more than Android you may as well just get an iPhone and stop asking to be 'convinced' to stay with Android. Inform yourself and make decision that's best for you.
