Would I unzip the file to the root of my SD card? I'm confused on how to actually get LauncherPro to recognize the files when I attempt to change appearance.

the png's can be dumped straight in to your gallery.
from there, all you have to do is long press on the dock set where you want the icon, choose Custom Icon and search through your gallery to find it.
