i want to install shabbymod

but im wondering if all my app and contacts are going to be deleted? :)
your contacts are tied to your gmail account, they will be restored as soon as you sign in to gmail on the phone.
But yes all your contacts, and downloaded apps will be deleted, as well as settings for everything, that happens when you do a total wipe, to help shabbymod run better. just installing shabbymod wont do it.
Your apps are tied to your gmail sign in so you can redownload all of them simply and easily.

Sorry for the bad info in my previous post.

If you install Shabbymod you will need to reinstall apps

but you should do a ClockWorkMod backup before you install Shabbymod
Right after you install Shabbymod
And once again after you get all your settings and apps setup

yes having that back up incase something goes wrong is invaluable, then having the backup of how you want the phone setup for a later date if something goes wrong.

in theory yes, ill be honest not much has changed. the big thing is now it can be flashed via cwm and im testing to see if the kernel writes properly and if apps get installed like i want them to

what would have to be done to overclock ? can it be done with shabbykernel
kernel will have to be reworked before overclock is supported, at this time shabbykernel will not work for it.
I expect its just some time have patience.

Overclocking will not kill the phone, though user error could every time.:p

You need to hit a happy medium between the heat produced and the clocks achieved.
