Root I want to switch roms. Question

Im new to root, just did it a few days ago using root for dummies so i'm running plain jane. I would like to switch to white widow. My question is, how do i do it? Do i just drop it on to the sd root then run it from recovery? or do i have to wipe or delete something first? Please Help

First back up all your apps with Titanium Backup. Then you can either move the file over using adb or you can just mount your phone and move it into the root of your sdcard. Then reboot into recovery, make a nand backup, then go into Wipe and wipe the cache and factory reset. Then go to flash zip, flash your new rom and then restart your phone.

It backs up your phone just incase something crazy happens to your phone, it goes into a bootloop, becomes a brick whatever.

Your just playing it safe and only takes like a minute to do, all you do is hit a button in the Backup/Restore section.

Then do everything mentioned above, but after the wipe and before the flash, make sure to partition your SD card. Do partition, then the ext2 to ext3 option (just keep clicking through using the default values). That sets you up for Apps2SD, which White Widow requires.

So the previous settings and apps from the previous ROM are gone? What is the best way of getting those back without manually inputting them in again? Will Titanium restore them without any issues?

Yes, titanium will restore apps+data (settings). I've used it a number of times and works well. I only do this with user apps, not system apps as those could present issues when restoring across different roms.
