I was all set to get the Note 2, but...

they don't have any sort of shell/holster for it. I don't carry phones in my pockets--I always clip them to a belt/waistband. The earliest I've heard of a decent clippable case will be January, for the otterbox.

I checked at Amazon, but the $18 item them have has terrible reviews due to the clip breaking quickly after purchase.

If anyone has a line on a good case w/ clip please let me know. thanks.

Also, I don't trust holsters in general. Had one during my HTC TyTN days and I was always worried it would fall off. And sure enough a few times it did.

I've been ok with all my holsters except for the leather one for the BB. that one slipped off a couple of times, but prolly was my fault. my bionic's case is very secure--had it for about 14 months. all my dumbphones had clips and I was fine with them most of the time. once lost a nokia on the trolley in San Diego, but a good samaritan turned it in and I retrieved it from lost and found the next day. (whew!!). :)

I ended up giving in to my desire to get the N2, despite there not currently being a decent holster case for it (rumor has it the Otterbox Defender will come out in Jan). LOVE this phone. sound quality is awesome and it's sooo much easier to type on the keyboard than on my Bionic. I haven't found anything yet that is a truly bad feature. It's head and shoulders better than the Bionic that Ive been suffering with, esp since the ICS upgrade screwed up the headphone output (whine). The gal I bought it from at Verizon laid her iPhone next to the N2...we had a good laugh at how tiny it is. LOL! Her hands are they smallest I've ever seen on an adult woman so I can see why she wouldn't be interested in owning a phone as large as the N2, but for me (I'm 6' 4" with large hands) it's PERFECT!

I got the leather case for $18 to tide me over til the otterbox comes out.

The Note II screen is large enough that I can actually *read* the fine print in Jelly Bean.

I'm using a too small/tight-fit Body Glove case meant for a ??? until something better is available.
 
That above link goes nowhere.

I can vouch for the Seidio surface case and holster. It's very expensive, but I know I don't have to worry about the phone slipping off the holster. It's quality, and as usual, you get what you pay for.
