I was set on the Gnex. . .

. . . until I put my hands on it at the Verizon store today. :( Maybe it was just a "lemon". I love the idea of ICS and getting speedy updates through Google. I love the camera. I love the big screen. But, the whites were "washed out", and the movement through the phone wasn't as smooth as expected in my opinion. Also, the salesman had to restart it for 3G to connect. . . Oh, and I noticed something on the screen. . . It looked like some image has "burned" into the screen. Every screen had the same markings on it. . .

It was sitting right beside the HTC Rezound, and the Rezound looked and felt much better. TBH, I wasn't impressed with any of the phones I played with. Maybe I should just get a prepaid phone and wait it out until something better comes along?

Or maybe don't get any smart phone at all.if u didn't see any that u liked right now, then forget it.thus thread kinda pointless

It is kind of pointless. I just wanted to show the picture, but wanted to add a little to read with it. I probably won't buy a current phone. Hopefully some cool quad core HD phone comes out soon. OR Nexus goes back to HTC.

The screen burn-in is from displaying the same image for hours at the store. If you use your phone normally, you will never have this happen (there will be some minor, rarely noticeable blueishness where the notification bar and the menu bar are if you look at something white fullscreen).

Some displays have defects in terms of colours, but you should be able to get a replacement if yours has a defect.

The display models might not be as snappy because they've been on for a long time and are probably loaded with a crapload of weird apps.

This makes sense. I don't know though. hmmmm decisions decisions. . . I don't want to miss out on the "4GB for 2GB" price, but I don't want to sign a 2 year contract a phone that's months old with quad cores and HD screens right around the corner. . . errrrrr. /firstworldproblems

Do whatever you want, I was just giving reasons for the burn-in and such. There will always be something better just around the corner. It's how technology works.

What are you waiting for? A quad core isn't going to change how or what you do with your phone.

HD screens around the corner? My galaxy nexus has an HD screen, idk about yours lol ;)
Quad core- like said in many threads, it won't really be that necessary unless your a heavy gamer.
screen burn- like stenzor said, it was due to it being a display model. The phone has been on since what 8 in the morning and wasn't touched for possibly 4 or 5 hours?
lag(slow transition)- also like stenzor said, this is due to it also being a display model and the fact that it's always on and has a bunch of apps on it that people download. Your suppose to restart your phone a few times a week as good practice anyway just to let it sort of "refresh"? i guess lol(sorry couldn't think of a good word)

If your not impressed by it, then wait. As much as I hate apple, I'd say the 3 top phones out now are Iphone(simplicity and easy to use), razr maxx(battery) and nexus. If your not impressed with one of those or any other then wait. But just remember, HD is already here and duel core is plenty :)

It also looks like it has a horrible screen protector or something on it, there is a kind of grainy texture to the whites that does not show up at all on my GNex. It may just be the camera that you took it with.
