i897UCJH7 Firmware Update Leaked

By the way, also wanted to mention a couple things after playing around with this firmware. GPS is better, definitely better. It is actually putting me exactly where I am within 30-40 seconds and did it consistently. But, (there is always a but) it didn't refresh quickly enough even from just walking. I walked from 1 building to another at the place where I work and it kept me in the same spot where it first locked on. I haven't tried it in the car, but if it can't keep up with me just walking, I doubt it will work in the car, but I'll try later today anyway.

Another big thing, battery. Battery seems to have been improved again. I've been playing with a fully charged phone for about 20-30 minutes, including using maps and GPS and it stayed at 100% the whole time. The game I play when I'm bored usually will drain the battery by 3-5 percentage points after about 15 minutes of play, now it seems to only go down by 1 percentage points.

Of course, these are all only preliminary as I've only been using this ROM for 24 hours, but to me, this is by far the best ROM so far.

I'm debating going to this, but I've also been watching the SRE thread on XDA. That hasn't seemed consistently stable enough to also install. If it does seemingly become stable enough to install relatively risk free, then I'll probably pull the trigger.

I have flashed JH7 firmware and installed SRE v1.3.1c. EXT4 lagfix applied using the script installed by SRE.

Everything runs great. No problems yet. Super fast and smooth.

At least in that thread, there still seem to be some people having issues though. And given my past issues with lagfixes, I'm wary.

DG looks to be working on SRE 2.0, with a lag fix built in and an improved GPS. If that comes to pass, that's probably the way I'll go.

As I've posted a few times before, I'm not sure why people complain about lag on this phone. I really don't see any. This goes for all ROMs I've run, JF6, JH2, JH3, and now JH7.
Do some of you really have a problem with the phone being slow?

Yea, the lag was a serious issue for me (black screens, slow responsiveness). I installed the NAND lag fix and haven't had a problem since though. I do want an OEM fix from Samsung though.

Yep, and that's not even getting into the scanning when the phone first turns on that basically makes the phone useless until its completed.

My phone definitely has moments of sluggishness, and I think (hope?) that any sort of "lagfix" might improve that.

OK, I guess, I'm the only one that doesn't experience this. My phone is very snappy.
I do agree on that media scanner running on startup, it does make the phone unusable for the first few seconds.
