Ice Cream Sandwich Leaked! download now.

Think I'll, "hang fire", on this for the time being as it is not recommended for daily use.

Certainly a step in the right direction though. :)

Let me know what you think of it steslatt.

ill download to have a look. Interested to see if there is any real change regarding touchwiz really. Can just reflash my backup after as its apparently not good enough for daily use.

Here's a video and a statement from Vertumus over on xda.

Well, there you have it!

Good to know Samsung are working on the ICS release, at this pace we should have stable roms in january which is sooner than I expected.

Also, touchwiz 4 is pretty sweet because it's hardware accelerated. All Nexus or Pure google experience devices I've tried lag with live wallpapers including the Galaxy Nexus yet the Galaxy S II has no such issues.

ICS + Touchwiz 4 = win

much welcomed news but sounds way too buggy for me to give a try.
i'm gonna wait on a proper RC before flashing

Oops only just saw this thread. I posted one in the root section, since it's technically a custom rom, but here it is in the normal section. Oh well!

I'll be trying this on Saturday :)

wait, am i missing something?

i thought a proper 4.0 release/update was coming to gs2 and other various superphones?

why even mess with custom ones?

Yep, we know. Now there's three threads about it! The rom apparently doesn't work great, BUT the kind people at xda have extracted the XXKP1 modem for us to use while we wait for the RC ICS. It works fine for me :D

From what I read in the article, this is a leaked official samsung ICS rom. Samsung are currently testing the 'proper' 4.0 rom w/touchwiz and I guess someone on the inside managed to snatch a copy and alter it for use on everyday SGS2s. So it's a non-official rom of the official beta firmware.

ah. i see the word CUSTOM thrown in everywhere so i assumed so.

1. i really dont see the appeal for these leaks.
if we werent getting it maybe why not raise the hype but we are, so who really cares?
unless of course the final product looks that ugly, then i'd throw a fit.

2. as just stated, i really hope this is a tenth of what it will be. it would be amazing to have pretty much the same look and feel on the nexus.

i opted not to buy a nexus tomorrow (or today) when it is getting released.

i really really hope they dont disappoint and transform the hell out of it.

not a chance. the GS2 is not and never will be a stock android phone. Of course samsung will be putting touchwiz on the 4.0 release.

Cant believe so many people, (mainly on xda), are getting angry that it wont be a stock android release. Either that or far too many people dont know the differences between phones.

Without pointing fingers, or naming names and being able to sit on the fence without getting splinters up my arse....

People annoy me, they complain when they have to wait for a new release, and when it is given to them early. They complain it doesn't look or feel like they expected, and when it doesn't work the way they thought it would.

There are people who are thankful for what they get, and some of those people visit this good forum.

Me...I'm just happy to wait for samsung to release what they think is the finished product.

Rant over, and splinters successfully removed
