no way. carriers want us to upgrade & won't allow this to happen, despite whether our phones could handle it or not.
 
It won't happen. There's not going to be any real development towards phones 15+ months old. Bug fixes yes, but you're at the end of software upgrades.
 
I agree, unfortunately. However, I'm waiting until official confirmation that the Droid X won't get it before jumping ship to something else.
 
Of course, drivers could be an issue since I doubt source code for X drivers haven't been released.

Just like trying to put a new version of Windows on a very old PC, ICS might not deliver a compelling experience on older phones. Clearly, it's developed with dual core support in mind.

No, don't think it will come, and hypthetically, if it does, it won't be before March, when many DX'ers upgrade is available.

The only way my DX will see ICS is if I use it to take a picture of the Galaxy Nexus.

not me, soon as the src drops I will port it myself if none of the good devs do it.
