I was just wondering the icons on the top of the phone, lately they seem to change from Green To gray. I wonder why is this? It'll be gray for a while, then back to green and repeat. What causes this?

As far as I can tell green means active data use (most often a location check I think and when you are browsing the web or something)
Grey is idle

All that means is that when it is green, you have connection to the Google services like Gmail, Calendar, Piccasa, etc. When it is gray, you may still have internet but NOT connected to Goggle services.
