icon at top of screen

Hi

I am trying to find out what the 3 and sometimes 4 symbols areat the top of my screen.
They are ticks above 3 lines. I have switched off programmes but they are still there. Can some one tell me how to find out what they are related to please?

They are notifications to tell you the status of app downloads (probably onnes that are completed). To see anything in your notification bar swipe down from the top of your screen and it will pull down a full screen of information. To clear the icons just press the clear button on that screen.
