Root Icon Editing

I want a icon for HeyTell so I decided to try and just make one. Well I made it but I can't get it just the way I want it. How do I make it be transparent like the rest of the icons?

it needs to be a png for the background to be transparent

use gimp.
some graphics editor kill transparency; paint.

gimp is simple for transparency first select the fuzzy tool and click the background
then hit del
