Help Icon of man walking through a door appeared on screen

ALCONS

Lurker
Hello all!
A strange icon of a man walking through a door appeared on my mother's Samsung Galaxy S3 wallpaper. It is on the bottom-right-hand-corner of the photo below (most of the screen is cut off because her wallpaper is a picture of family members. I circled the icon in blue).

I can't click on the icon or move it; I looked through all of the "settings" on the phone and there is nothing I can change that will make it go away; I looked up all of the "icons" for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it doesn't appear in any form of manual online. We're a bit worried that this may connect to a future virus...
Please let me know if you have any idea of what this is! Thank you!

Welcome Alcons!!
I even tried to google some different things to see what you are talking about to no avail.:(
Is there a way you can reupload your picture? It seems to be a broken image and we cannot see it;)

A sign of a man waking through a door is a universal sign for an "exit".
Can you tell if it's now part of the wallpaper or if it's really an icon? What does changing the wallpaper do? Also, is it on every screen, or just the home screen?

Palmetto Fellow, the image appears on all screens that have the wallpaper (so, if I go to "settings" it is not on the screen, but if I swipe right or left on my home page or go to "applications" it is still there. I have yet to change the wallpaper.. I'm worried that might cause a bug... is that a silly thing to worry about? would you suggest trying?

Still no go on the image and I cannot seem to fix it for you either.
Try uploading via Photobucket or the like?
Anyway, Palmetto has a good idea about the wallpaper...temporarily change the wallpaper and see if it goes away? :)

Not sure if changing the wallpaper would cause a bug. Does your wallpaper scroll with each swipe of the screen, or is it stationary? If it scrolls, and the icon moves with the wallpaper, then it's likely just a part of the wallpaper. If however the wallpaper scrolls and the icon doesn't then it's on a different layer.

You said it's not an icon that you can press on. Can you put an app shortcut on top of it, or does it occupy space on the homescreen?

If it's not supposed to be part of the wallpaper, then I'd wonder how it got there. If it's just part of the wallpaper, that itself isn't any concern at all, but if some app is adding it to your wallpaper, then that's something that would concern me.

Is she 100% sure that wasn't there when she put on that wallpaper?

He said the wallpaper is a picture of family members, so I doubt it's part of the wp. Weird.

Hi everyone!
Sorry I have not been on the forum for so long. I appreciate all of your help. I changed the wallpaper and the image went away. And I think I made a mistake-- when I looked back to see if the icon was on the original image, I looked at only one of two photos taken that day (practically identical, the person holding the phone must've taken it twice) and it actually IS on the original photo. I don't know how on earth it got there, it doesn't have any place in the setting.. but since it's on the original photo we're not going to worry anymore. Thanks again for the help and sorry for the confusion!
