Root icon prob on homescree

rooted prevail (gingerbread EJ06)

When I move an icon, it winds up disappearing. If I try to move an icon from APPS to home screen it doesn't take. I've rebooted but haven't done a factory reset (rather not)

Ideas?

What launcher are you using?

stock. the rooting was done to a stock phone ; nothing custom

A stock phone can use different launchers too... Just have to dl one from the market.

You could try installing ADW launcher. It's like the stock launcher with tons of features.

It's also free.

Or if you wanted to go 1 step further you could buy the paid version of ADW which is ADW EX. It has even more features than the free version. It's FAST and the best 1 out there IMO. I've tried other launchers but ADW EX outshines them all.

You could also have inadvertantly locked your home screen which would cause the same symptoms reguardless of which launcher you use
