Iconia A500 Impressions (5 Days)

@Charles

I haven't really come across a free GPS app that includes maps on board and a little scared still to buy one for the sake of testing.

Try navmii. It's genuinely free (unlike sygic) has a nice interface and works pretty well.
Sure some street names don't show up and you need data access to do searches, so I wouldn't recommend it for navigating around a strange city.
But to see how well the GPS works it is brilliant.

Appreciate the review. Great news about the KB working through the USB.
One question, Have you tried using the gps with an actual on board set of maps? Such as copilot or any of the other apps.
Thanks again

Bought my A500 the first day they were available where I live here in Ohio. I'm an over the road truck driver and I use my tab for gps tracking . I use Co Pilot on my laptop for years now and am quite happy with how well it works.
When the tab first came out I put the Co Pilot Truck version on and it was incompatible with Android 3.0 and gave me fits, It worked but not as good as it's is supposed to. After the 3.2 update it became THE BEST gps device there is.
ALK ( Co Pilot) sent me an email a week ago that had everything half price !
The prices aren't that bad to begin with for a world wide mapping program self contained.
You won't be sorry if you use Co Pilot. No internet connection needed, and just plain works!
