Help Icons along bottom

ok, I know this is gonna be a face palm, but how do I change the 4 dock icons along the bottom of the screen? I can't seem to figure out how to change those.
 
sorry.. I long pressed the icon I wanted use in my apps page and then choose to put it on my home page and when it showed the page for me place the icon, there were plus signs on the icons there, and I just dropped the icon on the one I wanted to replace.

Yeah, I kinda stumbled on that after I asked about it. Figured I'd move an app from my links page onto my home screen and saw the pluses. I used to use Launcher Pro on my Eris and that always had a little plus for any empty spot so I just tried to drop it there and it worked. hehe. I've come to realize that learning the Manufacturer and OS systems is about 90% experimentation, 5% stumbling into things, and 5% asking!
