Help icons

Hi Guys,
Heres what I want to do,
I want an icon for my text and one for email on my home screen,
I want these icons to show if theres a msg waiting to be read.
Some sort of a change on the icon,
That way all I have to do is unlock my phone, the home page will appear
and a quick glance will tell me if I have email or a text.
Right now I have touch the "messaging" icon to see if I have mail.
Can this be done ??

If you have Launcher Pro (highly recommended instead of the default launcher), simply go to preferences > dock settings and check/uncheck to have the icons show how many missed calls, texts, or emails you have.

1. Don't you get notifications?
2. A while ago I saw something in the market that was just a1x1 widget that you placed as an icon that would put the number of missed messages or e-mails in a bubble on that icon. Couldn't find it, but maybe you can.
3. I also suggest launcher pro..you can add a missed call, message, or e-mail bubble for the docked icons

For texts, I use SMS Popup. You can reply within the window without opening up your texting program. For mail, I just use the regular notifications.
