the stock rom is so much nicer... dont get me wrong, but i LOVE cyanogenmod, and well, it really has nothing to offer on this tab, sure it will have some speed improvements, but realize the stock rom was built for this specific device...

the JIT compiler doesnt even work in cm9 or 10...

they stock rom rooted should work for anyone, i think.. add clockwork for fun... and i think the only other thing you should need is a good theme...

but stock hands down rules this device... sorry...

thats the great thing about this, everyone is different and entitled to their opinion.
personally, i began with rooting my old evo 4g cuz my service was horrible at work and i needed root to force roam with roam control. right now im running mikg on my s3 and cyanogen10.1 on my 10.1 tab2. i love the stripped feel of cm10.1. no bloat or unnecessary apps in the way taking up all my space.

The AOSP versions of roms are originally designed for Nexus devices, and developers like the CM team take the code made available and try to make it compatible with other devices. Sometimes the results are good, and sometimes not. OEMs often add additional features to their devices that are not native to android that some users like, and some user find worthless. What makes Android great is that if you don't like something, there's usually ways to change it.
