ICS - any issues for you?

Right, had a quick look to see if there was another centralised issue thread and didn't see one.

So, what issues have you had after the update?

To try and cut down on many many pages of issues that no one reads, please use the thank button on posts with your issue. That way we can all see how common they are.

Mine;

For me its Wifi, the settings keep crashing out. I have managed to setup my wifi but it did force close a few times while and since.

Mine is Battery not charging through USB from the laptop, also not charging from the car USB. Standard Wall charger while phone is on charles very slow

Well I have some issues:

1. The phone IS slower :(
2. It is not possible to have sound && vibration at the same time anymore?
3. Any third party SMS app has double messages.
4. Face-unlock: Too long time before the camera opens.

Issue 1+2+3 are serious and needs to be fixed asap. Worst update ever :(. Where to go for older ROM installations?

after updating to ICS i cant change my wallpaper, lock screen wall paper, and i cant even put a picture on my contacts list, it always says Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped!

If you have any problems the first thing to do is make sure everything in 'Developer opions' under the 'Settings' menu is unchecked.

I tinkered with them as soon as I installed ICS and didn't realise until today that they were making certain apps and background tasks play up. Since unchecking 'Don't keep activities' everything is sweet.

Not a major issue,

but under the stock dialler, punching in numbers definitely has an increased response-delay to it..........just with the dialler though, keyboard seems fine.

Out of interest Remeniz, did you notice any improvements with activating the 'Force gpu rendering' option under developer tools?

I activated it straight away and assumed it improved browsing performance, scrolling in Google Play, BBC News, for example, but after disabling it, after it caused problems with the stock gallery, the Browsing is still slick. So some kind of graphical acceleration is going on regardless.

Biggest gripe is double messages being sent via Hancent or Chomp. It's ok with stock. I had a few probs with voice recognition but did another 'Reset phone' & it works a treat now. My Battery usage is BETTER than the checkROM gingerbread & now unrooted with ICS...loving the phones speed!

My SGS2 charged all night last night, it's now 8:46pm. I got up today at 8am. Since I've been up for 12hrs 46mins & my ICS battery is still on 67%. Why are all your batteries rubbish. Not seeing it myself!

No battery issues here.

Handcent double messaging as prev noted.
Facebook images dont show as contact pics in Handcent either now.

Sky Go stopped working (not available on my Transformer Prime so I assume its a V4.0.3 compatibility issue).

Google+ wouldnt sync, post pics, authorise the camera, and FC'd LOTS until a reinstall of the app.

Twitter took an age to resync first time.

Contact list lost all links to Facebook.

However, everything else seems good now (I've removed Handcent until its fixed) and I've not noticed any speed issues coming from GB.

Slow and fast scrolling is terribly erratic, jumpy and make me want to go back to 2.3.6.
For me, problem most noticeable in emails.

I think it is worth saying, write a few of your issues are likely caused by not being factory formatted when you upgraded. Try a format it you are still having issues. Worth a try...

Also, nice call on the developer tool thing. If also put force you on, it seems to be the cause of the lock screen issue I was having.

Only issue for me so far is can't organise my apps, won't allow me to add a folder, bit annoying, anyone any ideas how to sort it.

*edit I was being stupid. No issues for me

Had a general increase in RAM usage. Used to be in the 300s after not clearing the memory for a while and now it's usually in the 400s. Battery is fine on mine. Going on 2 days and 8 hours since last charge, 28% battery remaining. Light use, but still good battery life.

I'm a bit let down that Samsung has continued to use their dog ugly folders rather than the ICS style.

Running LP7 firmware now.

I've actually enabled 2D acceleration to see if it actually makes a difference anywhere. The only issue with enabling this feature seems to be when setting the wallpaper. I've set my wallpaper so this doesn't bother me. Maybe a later firmware will fix this.

Gotta say... The extra life I get from the battery now is stupidly fantastic! The deeper sleep makes a difference and also means quicker charging times?

Nothing major, but it has re-introduced an old issue for me, network now has random drops again.

I had this with some gingerbread roms, weird thing is I never had this issue with the ICS beta rom, at least with ICS it the data connection will enable again without me having to put the phone in and out of flight mode.

Go figure, an issue only I seem to get. :(

Well, it's been more than a day...

And the only two issues are the left/right swipe on contact is still a little hit and miss....

... and selecting a new wallpaper will force close the gallery (with 2D acceleration enabled).

WiFi, USB, charging, yada/yada, all works perfectly. And I've never seen my battery drain chart show such a horizontal line before :)

GT-I9100 - 4.0.3 - DXLP7 firmware.

Oh, and I didn't wipe either.
