Root ICS beta10 on Nexus S

Just rooted today, knew that was going to happen soon ;-)

I have been keeping track (somewhat) of the ICS rom over at XDA and decided to flash it. So far, so good. I really am enjoying the interface and the widgets that are built-in. Seems very smooth/fast with no lag or jumpy scrolling, etc. I'll keep it on as long as its performs as it is right now.

I'm no dev by any means but I'll report back here if anything seems to buggy to be used as a daily driver.

I haven't tried Beta10 yet, but the earlier version worked pretty well for me. I'm really excited to get an AOSP rom, so I'm sticking with my current rom for now.

Good idea. After closing 3 different apps the phone itself decided to reboot, each time. I don't really want that happening ;) Back to CM 7.1 ...btw, how do you like Nexus MV? I used GingerVillian, Redux and Oxygen on my Desire but the ROMs available on the Nexus are obviously different.

Nexus MV is by far the most stable rom I've used for the Nexus S. It's great, and there have literally been no bugs, or dimmed reboots. It's by far my favorite rom that is a modified version of CM7.

Thanks for the info B2L, I'm going to give Oxygen a go first. Since it was very stable and fast on my Desire it should fly on the NS.

So far Oxygen is running just like the stock rom. I flashed Matr1x 10.5 kernel and all is good at this time.

I am jealous. Think I am going to wait just a few more weeks to see what Google does (they say Google employees are testing ICS on their personal Nexii Ses [plural nexus s?]. Can you post pictures?

I've been using Kwiboo's v3 ICS ROM for almost two weeks now. So far so good but I'm waiting for Drew Garen's next build. It's supposed to be even better and will be out sometime later this week or next week. CM is working on theirs and there are numerous other ones out already, no need to wait for Google to push it down. Enjoy ICS now!
