Root ICS CM9 email and texting questions

I've started using the cm9 alpha build and there are two things that bug me. I don't think it is am issue with the rom, just a difference of ics.
In the messaging app, i no longer see am option to split long texts, where did this go? Maybe it isn't in the inverted gapps which I've been playing with.
In the gmail app, it now shows emails by their sender instead of by the subject which i don't really like, any way to change this back?

For SMS split.

Go to Messaging app
>hit the menu button
>Settings
>under "Text (SMS) Messages" look for SMS Split.

As far as Email goes I'm not sure. It doesn't really bother me so I haven't looked into it. Still getting used to the ICS updates.

I thought email was always sorted by date/time. Mine always have been. Never noticed a way to change it either.
