Help ics fail. please help

K, So i bought my Galaxy s2 (australia) when it was running on gingerbread.. Everything worked brilliantly. best phone i have ever used... Then i wake up 1 morning and there is something on my phone saying.. update to ICS.. I follow through.. and since then.. the amount of problems i have had with my phone is rediculous.....

Can no longer connect my phone to computer with usb and put files onto it.. mp3's ect.. when i do plug it in, my wifi internet connection on my computer cuts out.. half of my apps i had, failed completely... Had many instances, when my phone wont charge...error: " battery voltage too high" & "battery disconected"

so many more issues.. that i wont go into

Wish i never updated.. surely this can not be the case though.. please help.. read something about doing a factory reset and then reinstalling ics, not really sure how to do this.. and will i lose everything on phone.? not underly incompetent with fixing things like this.. but in this case i seem to be.. any help would be appreciated..
