**ICS Jan 9 2012** Post here when you get it ...

For those who have updated without any problems, approximately how long did it take?

I'm about to take the plunge.

Took about 15 minutes from start to finish, then another 3-5 for the camera update. After all was said and done however, I'm getting black lines across the screen mainly when in the Android Market, but it shows up randomly every once in a while in other apps too, even with the Market closed. Gonna keep an eye on it and I may do a full wipe/reset on it if the problem continues. I got it from Office Depot (ordered online) so I don't really want to have to deal with returning it for replacement.

I got my update about 11am EST. It took about 15-20 min with ICS And the camera update. Browsing seems a lot smoother. Screen to Screen swipes seems faster too. I'm enjoying it. It took me a few moments to realize how to kill apps with the X gone. I'm really digging it. Now to wait for my wallpaper app to catch up.

So far so good. I'm impressed with ICS . Everything seem ok. New camera is neat but has anyone noticed that the resolution setting only goes up to 6mp?

Before I updated I uninstalled a bunch of apps that I rarely use, most I installed on my Prime because they are on my phone. My phone is still FroYo so I had a feeling some might not work with ICS. I want to reinstall them one at a time to check for FC or other errors that may occur.

I am supposed to get mine Thursday. I will install it over a "clean slate". Anyone having problems should do a factory reset before installing.....or maybe it does that for you???

ya i know but i have it set to never turn off and it still does after idle so i made a toggle on screen to put back on when it goes off:(

When you say idle do you mean when the screen goes off, you turn the screen off, when it dims, or just after a certain period of time? I am assuming wifi doesn't come back on when you start using it again, that is why you made the toggle. I have mine set to turn off when the screen goes off, but as soon as I turn it back on it connects immediately. Does that work for you?

Turned on my TP last night and it immediately started downloading ICS, which surprised me since it didn't give a choice.

When I upgraded my Samsung Captivate from 2.1 to 2.2, it was much more involved and had to be done through a pc. This was so smooth and easy, no sweat.

My son picked up his Nexus yesterday and thought he had one over me. I told him I now had ICS on the Prime. Ha!

In a couple of weeks, we're going to California for a week, of course, taking the Prime. That's one of the main reasons I bought it. It should come in very handy that week.

It doesn't factory reset the device, so everything stays the same after update

Then I would recommend that to people who are having trouble after the update and I would recommend people that haven't updated to do a factory reset before they do. I know it can be a PIA but it is a small price to pay.

With the ICS update my Prime now intermittently breaks the screen up into horizontal bands or lines about 1/8 of an inch in height. this occurs more prevalently when scrolling. if i let a webpage sit, all of a sudden it splits into these lines, I can shake the page up and down and settle back to normal, if i am scrolling up or down a ways it may all of a sudden start doing it. This occurs in the browser, on home screens in apps & widgets etc. Anyone seeing anything like this?

Horizontal lines are being reported after the ICS update. There is a thread about it at transformerforums.com but there is no known cure as of yet.

Yea, it may be a PITA but could solve some initial problems with the upgrade. I'm not sure why this sort of thing isn't recommended by more. Even though I didn't do it and I'm not having any trouble, this may be a recommended step before applying the update. Wipe first then update

I should have posted this last night, but i didn't get chance.

First, i updated (UK) to ICS yesterday (Wednesday 11.01.12). Took me all of 10-15mins to download and install the update.

Web Browsing seems quicker but i had Router issues the day i got it which caused a lot of slow internet problems, so the experience of HC browsing was limited.

The whole tablet is working perfectly (Not referring to GPS here as i don't use it for GPS). This thing is running as smooth as my iPad 1 & 2 were running, even with 7 widgets on my homescreen along with running ADWLauncher EX.

Overall, i'm impressed.

The only issue i have with this tablet is Asus announcing the HD version so soon(Though im not planning to wait longer for a tablet and the screen on this is good enough!). Also Asus not even considering any type of compensation for the GPS issues. (A voucher for a case would go nicely, maybe even a trade-in option for the new Prime, with less of a cost for us? I don't expect it for free.)

i updated yesterday after recieving my replacement from office depot. and i have to say, i am having no issues over a 24 hour period, no lines, lock-ups, or random reboots. i watched a ripped bluray copy of star wars ep 1, played shadow gun, worked on spreadsheet with docs to go, and nothing. I think i am one of the lucky few... if i have any issues, i will update...cheers guys

I finally caved and updated mine. I was just too eager to use ICS. Anyway, I went through the process, took about 15 minutes to do the whole thing. I am happy to report zero issues. The Prime is faster, browsing is smoother, and the whole experience has been excellent! I'm glad I did the update and that it went well.

I'm still waiting for a version of Citrix that works so I can access my work programs, and an updated version of my .chm reader that doesn't crash on half the .chm's I use.

I do wanna see if it makes noticeable diferences for me.

You can avoid the update if you hit the "Back" button everytime the notification pops.

i no longer have an "X" next to notifications to clear them

went to stock browser typed in "Belt" and hit "images" (google images)

scrolled down the page and browser locked up until i touched it, multiple times.

damnit ...

EDIT, now i pick TP back up and see it says "Browser not responding"

Jiminy Crickets here we go

EDIT, WifiAnalyzer shows signal between 70-80 (im about 40ft from router)

 Has the TF Prime changed the BACK from Aluminium to plastic because of issues for those who bought last month. This would really be something... if in fact correct. As my old man been on to Asus forever and no mention of a change to BACK cover.

Can someone confirm as in Aussie no supplier has Plastic Back for TF Prime, yet we always at least a couple of months behind.

If yes, where the best place to order from in US... Amazon. Do not trust ordering from HK. Thanks...

Cheers Jay

I got mine ICS 4.0.3 somewhere around 6th of January it updated in 10-15 minutes with camera firmware, everything is working fine since then.
