Help ICS - notification bar hides url bar in stock browser

Hi all,

First time poster here! I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere, so here goes...

I'm using the stock ICS browser on an HTC One S. The notification bar seems to slide up and down of it's own accord during browsing. The problem is that when the notification bar is visible it occludes the url/settings area - very annoying when I'm trying to type a url into the box! When I use the labs feature with the sliding semi-circular menus, which I really like, the notification bar then hides the top of every website. For instance, when using google search, on the results page it is very difficult for me to click on the tabs for images, shopping etc after a search, without playing a game of cat and mouse to get the notification bar to disappear for long enough for me to get a click in!

Can anyone help me sort this out. It's my biggest gripe at the moment, apart from the not-so-great battery life on the One S!
