Foxfi is free and allows ssl pages. Food for thought.I saw something about secure sites being limited in the free version. What is the price on it?

The ad-hoc files are missing for wifi tether to work "the program, not the function" . As for bluetooth tether, that is most likely broken until we get bluetooth fixed in the kernel.True, but it appears the Bluetooth method in the app works.
Anyone tried wifi tether? I didn't use it much, but it's free.

Yes and no to the ad-hoc files. I've been working over the weekend, and while I can get ad-hoc working (wifi tether turns it on without error now), I can not actually get any device of mine to see it. This means that something is still not broadcasting correctly. This fix also breaks normal wifi usage, so that tells me I'm missing something important.Do do we just need to find a copy of the ad-hoc files and push them to the Spectrums?
The new ICS on spectrum is better in many ways, but lack of wifi tether on grandfathered data plan sucks. Also noticed in both GB 2.3.6 and ICS 4.0.4 that neither really uses the second cpu core.
have you added the wifi.direct permission file?Yes and no to the ad-hoc files. Still no dice and trying to manually connect in ubuntu isn't working, so I'm doubting it's just a hidden ssid.have you added the wifi.direct permission file?
Well, something in that permission file must have finally kicked in. I have functional wifi and a wpa binary that doesn't error out when turning on wifi tether. I still have no broadcast thou, which sucks, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
No luck so far. I did find out that the BlackPlague rom runs fine with the ICS radio files thou. You'll still get pestered by the ICS update notification if you don't block it thou. Just thought I'd pass that on for anyone needed BT and wifi tether without going back to V6 thru the .cab method.Any progress?

Multiple sources. The closest ones that worked were from a CM9 build, but it still gives me issues and I have a feeling it's all due to the framework jar files. Thanks, hopefully it will work out soon. BTW where did you pull the ad-hoc files from?

Just checking in to see if anyone has solved this yet?
