Plus by the time connect came out he was still knee deep in the esteem dev. I'm sure he might pop around with something cool sooner or later.
 
There is progress....but when i see comments like...the weekend warrior and other smart ass comments, it makes me not want to do squat for you guys.

Maybe if you showed people who take the time out of there day to get an OS running on your phone a little more respect...stuff would get done quicker. If you can't wait...learn Linux and how drivers work. There are plenty of tutorials online that show you how to do it...

Until then...wait or piss off

For real man, I saw their posts and was so disappointed. They know better man. They just don't know, they just see a week gone by and no post so they think its abandoned like the many other ports; I know you guys are having trouble porting things over cause of drivers. I hope you don't ruin it for us cause of a few bad apples getting irritated. You still have alot more people here for support. :tee:

Woo! thats great news! If there's anything I can do to help. I'm a post/pm away man. I'm glad you can brush off the salt they were trying to toss; as if it wasn't tough as is to port things over (from another incomplete port lol :p).
 
Come on guys, give him some time!
I know its not easy lol i tried to port a theme over this phone along time ago and i gave up:confused: its not easy, it takes time and patience;)
 
Llal, seriously you can't take a lil sarcasm? There are plenty of people in here giving you positive feedback for something you haven't even done yet. People are in here offering cash to get stuff done, if that's not motivation I dunno what is. Tell ya what at this point in the connect game (which is pretty much over with) if anyone comes through with what they say I'd be thoroughly shocked. I'll tell ya something else if you can compile something before I switch to the spirit I too will contribute some dough to the cause. Point is everyone who's come in here talking like they're gonna get something done either backs out or just plain drops off, so forgive me for expecting the worst but so far in this community that's all we've seen.

Sarcasm or Not. I'm willing to put forth time and effort into porting ICS over and for you to have doubt is another reason things don't get done. Why would ANYONE want to do anything if all you're going to do is doubt then. I could care less about the money, i just want people to be happy.

You're not the only one who wants ICS as i have the phone and i want it too.

So as the ol saying goes

if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all
 
As i said before...if you don't wanna wait. Learn Linux. Become a dev and do it yourself. If you understand anything that has to do with computer lingo...its easy.

However i have a life! So sorry for being in school trying to support my kid and family. On top of being a DJ and producer

Thank you, well said - don't give up, you'll get the ROM - the whiners and naysayers are thick here for some reason, can't blame you for ranting, feel the same way.
 
Well said silver!! They're the first to complain but i bet the first to download the ROM once its completed. Then complain about something else as if they paid you to do it! Like you said unless they're paying your bills, then they shouldn't be saying anything!! Keep it up man, remember i'm here to test as well when your ready.
 
I highly doubt that sir, in fact I plan on moving over to the spirit asap. From what I'm hearing it's a far better phone for way less than what I paid for this hunk of junk and it comes with what everyone on here has been waiting almost a year for, ICS. Look I dunno this kid or what kind of rep he has, and I was no where near dogging him or his abilities. I made a snide remark (not even an insulting one IMO) and you all blew it way outta proportion. I understand people have other priorities I myself have 3 kids 15, 7 & 4 and also work full time so trust me I know how limited time can be. But if you come in (like so many others) claiming this & that even if it is only a weekend project than what would this community expect? Updates on the weekend.. So instead op comes in here not posting results or where he's hit blocks in development, but about how offended he is by one minor snide remark. In all honestly I hope this dev does come through for you guys (he'd be the first) and you guys finally get what this phone should've came out the box with, I really do. As for me I'm not gonna keep coming in here defending my comment that you guys find so offensive. I do know one thing this guy is either gonna come through or not, and from what I hear compiling a ROM/kernel like/for CM can take weeks if not longer and with him only being able to work on the weekend hopefully you guys can get ics before the end of summer. With all that being said good luck to the op and don't let etrashtalk get the best of you, words are only as strong as you let them be.

I'm going to make this simple.

This is a [DEV] thread.

You may use it to get updates from the dev, if and when he produces anything. You may use to sign up for testing or whatever he's into that you're interested in.

You may also use it to lose your posting privileges if there's any more treatment of this guy as a whipping boy.

That's up to you all - not me.

Post respectfully and positively. If you have a negative opinion of how this going down, that's your protected right. Posting that negative opinion here is not ok - just move on to a thread more to your liking, and leave this subject behind.
