ICS question for bionic

Odiseous

Newbie
Long time android user and forum reader... 1st time poster.

Curious about the following;

when we finally get ICS on the bionic do you think it will run stock ICS, or will it still have some type of "blur" running on top of it?

My guess is that it will have Blur. My hope is that it does not because Blur would be a major disadvantage on that brand new UI. My rationale is that the first time Motorola introduced Blur it drove users away from the device by the thousands b/c of its clunkiness, it's pudginess, and its tortoiseness.

With the BIONIC, they've finally got it working (mostly) right - only to have Google go and completely re-design the UI and the underpinnings of Android. Thus, I'm betting that Motorola will have to go back to the drawing board and redesign Blur again - and I'm afraid it will have the same results as the original did, until Motorola devs get it figured out and tweak it nicely for Android 4.1 / 5.0. by that time I'll probably be long gone from the BIONIC unless they give me an unlocked bootloader.

I am sure he was referring to a Vanilla ICS. However with Motorola's nature of wanting to add Blur to everything they make I have no doubt that our ICS will be Blurred. However I am waiting for a stable version of Theory Rom's ICS port which will probably be ready months ahead of Motorola's ICS port.

I'm waiting in DHacker's AOSP ICS port - which will probably be ready in the next several weeks - he already went to Alpha 2 status in a single day...
