Ics scaring me

Hi Guys,

I am a new user in the community as well i am a new owner of a galaxy note.I purchased it 3 days back,I have no knowledge about ANDROiD as i have been using NOKIA since last 7 years.
I have a very few simple questions on which i would like to take your EXPERT advice

1.I have updated the FIRMWARE to ICS now.Now after i have updated it i feel that the battery is draining too fast,Just wanted to know how to fix it.
2.Also i have heard that there is a bug in ICS which can brick the phone. How can i check if that bug is there in my Phone or not?
3.Also wanted to know as to how can i make sure that i get atleast 1.5 days from normal use

Please reply back guys as i am very eager to use this fone but when i see the battery backup i feel very disappointed
Please help

Havent gotten the ICS update yet officially here in the US yet. So cant say about most of that. Getting 1.5 days on any smartphone is nearly impossible unless you dont use it at all during that time. I'm getting 12-14 hrs with gingerbread, not sure I want ICS just yet with all the problems I'm hearing about after its installed.

well i am sure you guys have heard of the EMMC bug in ICS which can brick your phone in case you do a factory reset
even i didnt know that and ppl are saying that i am lucky that i managed to get the mobile reset to factory defauly without getting bricked
so for ICS factory reset is a BIG NO NO
Someone gave me a app which once installed can check if your mobile has the EMMC bug or not

Just drain your battery to near zero, and charge it overnight. Do it for several days. Your battery life would get better, somewhat.

Stock ICS for India drains out like crazy. I have a Note for the last 2 months and found Rocket ROM V2 has a decent battery life when compared to the DDLPY build we have out here. Yesterday morning i clocked 58% usage in 21 hours and thats having listened to music for 3 hours, whatsapp'd for approximatly 12, FB and Twitter as well inbetween along with phone calls.

you need to be technically sound and willing to risk rooting your phone if you intend to pull the best out.

Alternately a simple app like 2X Battery Saver would help boost it.
