Help ICS sound issue

Hi there.

After my HTC Sensation was upgraded I've had at least two annoying things happen to my phone.

1. Every link I clicked simply opened the browser loading the last page I used. I fixed this with a complete reinstall of the phone incl. deleting the SD card.

2. Sometimes - not sure when - there's no sound when playing soundclips, or youtube videos or other media content - except when I have my headphones in. A complete reinstall does not help and the problem occurs even if I didn't download any app but just use the phone out-of-the-box. A reboot of the device solves the problem for a while - not sure how long.

I don't know what triggers the event but it might be related to listening to music with headphones plugged in and taking the headphones out since I listen to a lot of music (with the default player) on my phone.

I did not have this problem before upgrading to ICS - and I've downloaded every official supported update to ICS with no avail.

One last thing. Everytime I reboot (to fix the sound issue) my phone says something about upgradring applications and it counts. One would think that when the apps are upgraded or checked it would require to do it again at each reboot.

So.. does anyone have this problem - and does anyone know how to fix it?

This sounds as if it is related to problems I am having:-

I have been getting your reboot upgrading issue recently - irritating, but livable with.

A greater issue is that I have suffered with is the headphones working/not working periodically(but can hear tinny music from the phone itself).

The phone has just been returned by O2 as supposedly 'fixed', but on switching on to listen to music on the storage card - earphones not working.

I regularly listen to radio FM and also my music (downloaded to the storage card from I-tunes on my computer). I played around with various headphones in/out, music on/off, radio on/off, booting/rebooting options and in certain configurations the headphones work. Too many configurations possible for me to spend any more time trying to work out what is the problem but I suspect there is a software glitch(beyond my capabilities) - the phones are now working so I am leaving them.

So to quote the original poster .. 'does anyone else have this problem - and does anyone know how to fix it?'

Regards
John
