ICS. The end of Flash Player Support!?!?!!

I have 4.0.4 running on my Xoom and it plays Flash Video's just fine. I just succeeded watching one on ABC news and confirmed it was flash by hitting the same page in chrome (which told me I needed flash to watch it). I don't think this is a 4.0.4 or Motorola specific problem but may be down to the ROM on the phone.

Since this is affecting users that have the OTA....I would say its a Motorola problem.

Your post and the one before yours confirms it.

I think I may have misstated here. What I meant to say that it's an issue with the OS for the RAZR rather than a generic 4.0.4 issue or one for Motorola based devices. So in that essence yes it may be classed as a Motorola problem - I see your point.

My apologies.

Ahhh...I see...lol. And I totally missed it that the last 2 posts were probably talking about stock ICS.

I hear Galaxy Nexus owners have no problems with Flash too...Motorola needs to update the RAZR soon..

Actually, there is a way to get flash support on your ics .211 razr. Root your razr using Matt's 1.7 utility install ics safestrap 2.0 and install this rom -http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/2405-romcdmakoa-aokp-milestone-6-final-build-792012/. the utility can be found in droidrzr.com and safestrap and the rom are also there. And yes, southpark does play in this rom; . Therefore something in the standard 404.211 is blocking flash from working.

I also see a new ICS leak for the RAZR. Imma try that first...If it fixes Flash...I will be back to using custom ROMs, leaks again.

. 214 is just a kernel leak which may improve battery life. I have it on mine. It doesn't fix flash. Any system update moving forward won't work with flash. That solution needs to come from Adobe.

Which is why people need to stop freaking out and wait for adobe to fix it.

.215 is a kernel that removes. 214 and brings it back to. 211! Calm down. If you want flash the only way to get it is the way I've described. I'm quite knowledgeable on this subject. Wishing for a different scenario will not make something magically appear.

Sorry, thats something different. However the upgrade will not let you attain flash. Good luck

Just a word of caution; its not wise to flash a leak until you know whether it is beneficial or deleterious to your phone. If it is adverse and can't be rolled back you'll be kicking yourself in the you know what.

I agree...

I have been doing this since the Droid 1 in 2010. Skipped all the Cheesecake madness with more recent phones....lol.

I never really do it now on phones locked down like this unless there is confirmation of a way to go back to stock. Since this just popped up today.....it might be too early to say if we can or not.

But I agree with your warning.

Using this ROM. No flash videos work. Tried ABC.com and CW.com Suggestions?

Believe it or not I am on the road and I just watched the first video I saw on abc.com called the rookies. Are you sure you're not using chrome browser?

Dolphin browser. All on. (Java/flash/etc...) Will try disabling pop up blocker. Which UI are you using? Desktop/Android/iPhone /iPad? Tried them all.

Going to try Opera.

Flash works on all the aokp/cm9 roms I've tried. I'm currently on full throttle cm9 (super fast btw). On this rom I had to install flash and adobe air then reboot to get it working

I have no idea why it wouldn't work for you. I tested abc and it worked on koa aokp. Reflashing the rom or trying a different one is the only thing i can think of.

Full Throttle CM9 didn't allow led to blink with screen on. (My biggest gripe...) Didn't test flash video. I downloaded Full Throttle AOKP, and so far, it is amazing! ABC.com worked. So, thank you!!!
