ICS. The end of Flash Player Support!?!?!!

Well the truth of it is flash is out dated and HTML 5 is way better. Once it catches on it will be good

Unfortunately, once fragmentation of HTML5 sets in, it will probably revive Flash and other technologies perceived as outdated because of claims that a new paradigm being ushered in would be unified and would render everything else obsolete, just like previous attempts to unify proved to be equally (un)successful... think C++ (write once, compile anywhere), Java (write once, run everywhere, etc...)

If previous HTML versions were fragmented by individual companies with their own tweaks to encourage more market share for themselves, why would HTML5 be any different in the end? It won't be, and "freedom to innovate" will be the usual and predictable excuse to stray from this fledgling "open standard". :( The only constant is change...

I did a quick google search and, despite a lot of red herring articles, some valid ones are already popping up about HTML5 fragmentation... and not all browsers support what still isn't an official standard yet... even when it becomes official, fragmentation is still going to be an issue... the red herring ones claiming Android will cause HTML5's standard to accelerate or how Android is causing the HTML5 fragmentation, or how Android is fragmented due to all the devices out there... not many about HTML5 being fragmented by companies to ensure their market share increases despite HTML5 being an "open standard"...

Unfortunately, flash is no longer working. I upgrade to 2.16.215 for battery....Anyone else have this?
**EDIT*** My own stupidity. It works.....sorry!

I find it strange that it works with some ROMs, but not others. No good on KOA AOKP, or Full Throttle CM based, but perfect with Full Throttle AOKP....

Leads me to believe it isn't Flash that isn't working, but the ROM...

I have come up with some work arounds for some sites. You can watch full episodes of Southpark by going to southpark-zone.blogspot.com. You will need to view the site in the dolphin hd browser and make sure adobe air and flashplayer are installed. Also scroll to the bottom of the page and tap view web version. Look to the right side of the page part way down and zoom in to choose your season then episode, again scroll to bottom to tap view web version. Then you can play them in the browser. As far as desktop youtube videos in hd... Use google chrome and the play like a breeze! Again, make sure you have adobe air and flashplayer installed.. I am not having any trouble getting around this issue with flash.. Try this, im sure it will work fine as it has for many others..

This works in Opera Browser as long as you have the UI set to "desktop"...

Hello all. I hope you can help me. I bought a refurbished galaxy tab 2 for my wife. She watches a lot of videos online especially from Asian sites such as youku. Many of the videos freeze and lock up the browser. I've done research and know that freezing on flash sites is a common problem as adobe stopped supporting flash on ICS. but the strange thing is that the same videos that freeze on the galaxy tab will play on my ipad which also does not support flash. So I'm very confused. Btw the freezing happens on the stock browser, Firefox and dolphin. (Also sometimes the video does not freeze but consistently blinks). I hope I given you enough info. Can anyone help?

Internet connection? Memory?

Try using Firefox. I use it on my Nexus 7 and flash works perfectly and I'm running 4.1.2

EDIT: never mind, I should learn to read the whole post before I say something. But it still goes to show that flash will still work.

From dolphin...

So, even tho it no longer works, is it safe to leave Flash player installed? Or should I uninstall it to be safe???

Check to see if it works first by try the southparkstudios link above. If it works leave it in if it don't uninstall it as not worth taking up space on phone memory.
On my ICS razr Maxx it gives error not supported and the southparkstudios link will not play any videos. So I uninstalled it.
But may be different on different peoples phones even with ICS.

The site linked played the South Park Movie on native browser.

I want to know if anyone can get a video to load from abc.com A full episode. Thanks.
