Root ICS theme UPDATED: 7/9/2012 in blue and purple Power widget ics theme add/edited

For those of you who cannot wait to taste ICS, but know it's not coming soon enough for you I've made an EXTREMELY light ICS Status bar.. no apps are themed in this, I am unable to currently due to odex files..

FIRST:
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE OR SCREW IT UP IN ANY WAY, DOESN'T MEAN I WONT TRY TO HELP, BUT IT'S ON YOU! ALSO DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FRAMEWORK-RES OR SYSTEMUI IF YOU DID NOT GET IT FROM THIS PHONE OR YOU WILL BRICK IT.

SECOND: THANKS TO UOT for helping me with creating most of this.

THIRD: LETS CHECK IT OUT! :)

With the new theme you will have a 1% modded battery and blue themed status bar/loading circle/ downloading bar/glow/dividers.. well, you'll see :)

INSTRUCTIONS​

DOWNLOAD FOR WIDGET: http://www.4shared.com/android/xpgOPAZs/Settings_2.html
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WIDGET: Put on sdcard with name Settings.apk
copy and paste to /system/app/


1. DOWNLOAD FOR THEME: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/88781290/ICS THEME.rar




2. Unpack to where you want it.(Mine on my Desktop for ease.)

3A. IF 3A STEP WORKS YOU DO NOT NEED TO MOVE ON AT ALL.. STOP HERE IF THIS WORKS..IF IT DOES NOT WORK THEN DO STEP 3B AND ON.
CD to the spot where you unpacked the systemui and framework-res in cmd

then run:
Code: 
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
then reboot your phone.

IF YOU GET AN ERROR MOVE ON TO 3B if it pushed congratz cause mine didn't work this way lol. HAVE FUN! :)


3B. put the SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk on your sdcard with:
adb push framework-res.apk /sdcard/ and
adb push SystemUI.apk /sdcard/
Or just use mass storage to do it.. but just know how to get to them when your on the phone in root explorer.

4. (DO THE SYSTEMUI FIRST SO THAT YOU CAN DO THE FRAMEWORK WITHOUT REBOOTING)
goto something like root explorer andcopy SystemUI.apk from /sdcard/ and paste it in /system/app
NOW copy the framework-res.apk from /sdcard/(where you placed it) and paste to /system/framework

5. once that is done, if your phone doesn't restart automatically, then restart it yourself.

:)thank you.. ill be making this EXACT theme, but purple... someone asked if I could lol, not sure if I should post a second one or just put it here..
also I'll be updating this to try and make the notifications dropdown transparent and the battery, I personally dislike it.. lol

I like that widget too. I was considering editing the Settings.apk to make the Power control widget have blue accents instead of green, but I think I like that widget more.

The only thing that bothers me a little bit is that the cell signal bars have been reduced to 4 bars instead of 6, and the spacing of the bars isn't uniform. It's not really a big problem.

phisherman81 - Just curious, is your username a reference to the band or scamming/spoofing?
 
The widget is Power Controls. The far left icon is an app shortcut to wifi tether.

My name is a combo of the band Phish and the fact my high school mascot was the Fisherman.
 
Hey Salvy would you mind whipping up a version of your blue theme less transparent status bar and adding circular battery icon?

I was thinking of doing the same but when I looked at settings apk I couldnt find what I wanted. im continuing on it though.

Yea I was going to work on it now. I'm a bit upset because can't get the notifications background to be transparent :( I'm looking into it hopefully another fix by tomorrow :P

After more editing of the Settings apk widget section I came up with this:

All funds are going to a new phone to send to someone for CWM stuff.. atleast now they are. unless someone gets it because I cant get enough money up... only a buck 50 in there and it's because I put it lol
 
Made my own theme with UOT and everything took except the signal indicator. It stays it's usual ugly green self... Any idea's? I've copied files over numerous times

yea. thats a uot/OE flaw you have to open the systemui.apk and manually chsnge the names look for:
sprint_stat_sys_r_signal_0_green_cdma
and
stat_sys_r_signal_0_fullly
or something like that. the problem is the ones you want to be on your phone are named like this : stat_sys_r_signal_0_fullly
and the ones that are on your phone are named: sprint_stat_sys_r_signal_0_green_cdma
What you need to do is alot of work.

grab all the ones that have the names that you want and are the signal bars I.E: stat_sys_r_signal_0_fullly stat_sys_r_signal_0 stat_sys_r_signal_1_fullly etc.. including the ones that dont have the r in there name but the work signal.. put them in a folder called mine.. or something to indicate you want them. then grab all the ones with the name sprint in them and put it in a folder called theirs or something to indicate you dont want them.
You'll notice yours only goes up to 4 and they go up to 6. you have to change "mine" to look like "theirs" so what I did was copy "mine" numbers 3 and 4 and paste them so that numbers 3 and 4 showed up with 4 pictures that looked the same so what you have 5 signal bars it shows up 4 and when you have 6 signals it shows 4 but when you have 4 and 3 it shows up 3.. we are limited by the number of bars because of the signal bars from UOT go up to 4 and ours do 6.. so we have to compensate. After you are done with that you must change all of the names in "mine" to look like the sprint ones personally I didn't have too much of a problem doing this because I edit the purple signal bars myself and named them myself with GIMP.. anyway if you have more questions just ask. Im willing to help :)

Doesn't sound too difficult. I'll give it a try this evening.

Now can I just copy the 6 Sprint files out and edit the colors and put them back into the new systemui from uot to keep the 6 bar meter but with my colors?
