Help ICS: Transformer Shutting Off Mysteriously

Make sure you've checked Acquire, too.

It must not have been enabled. I haven't seen the first post of a rebooting or froze tablet with wake lock

Yeah that's my guess. Come to think of it, I wasn't too sure how to confirm the settings when I first installed it. I probably just hit the back button. I got it now though. Looking forward to ending the reboots.

I am a new TF101 owner and am having the RR and freezes. I just installed wake lock and did the sleep option in settings. I also have down loaded the update from asus but havent tried that.

Loving the Transformer when it works.

wake lock has been rock solid now for two weeks. No reboots, not freezes and only minimal battery impact.

That's the first post I've seen with a rr using wakelock.. I suspect it wasn't due to the ICS bug
Once my Transformer rebooted there was an icon for WakeLock in the systray, it was not there before the RR. I'm guessing it wasn't fully active.

After my daughter's soccer game i got my transformer from three car where it was off. I have wake lock on partial, start on boot, and acquire/release is ticked. When i booted it again it was at 67%charge.

It'll drain the battery somewhat.. But my experience isn't quite that bad. At least the reboots and SOD's are nullified totally

The battery was i n the 70s to start, so there was little drain, what i was saying was it still shut itself off.

Then I must also add that using wake lock on PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK did NOT solve the rr problem for me. It seems to have solved the deep sleep issue, but I still get rr's with the same frequency that I did before.

(P.S. in a previous post I mentioned that the Keep Awake option in Developer options worked at stopping rr's and deep sleep. This has since proved incorrect. It seemed (although I could be mistaken) to lengthen the time between rr's but it did not stop them)

Wake lock has been solid for over a week now. Aside from having to charge it more frequently, it's nice to pick up the tablet when I need it and actually be able to use it! Just make sure Wake Lock is actually holding on the right mode in the notification area. Having said that, I'll probably see problems today!

Hi All -

I signed up on this forum specifically to find out if there is any fix for all the issues I am experiencing on my TF101 since the OCS upgrade.

I have all issues, on docking without docking, reboots, playing dead, turning off by itself, flashing, loss of battery....it is most frustrating! any help would be appreciated

Install wake lock Power Manager, set it to partial wake lock and then check the acquire/release lock box.

It might degrade the battery performance but it should stop most, if not all boot locks and reboots.

WakeLock fixed my random reboots and boot loops but battery life suffered. I uninstalled WakeLock before applying the new firmware the other day and I'm almost 48 hours without a boot loop or random reboot. Let's see if this trend holds true, because I'm reading about plenty of people that updated and did not have their problems fixed.

FYI:
Important Bullitin - Original Transformer Owners

Asus has released a new firmware update for the TF101. I'm not sure what the change log is, but I would hope it fixes the random reboots and deep sleeps. Maybe those with wake lock should try disabling it, installing the update and seeing how it goes.

9.2.1.21 Change log:

5. Added WiFi Direct Support
6. Added unzipping functionality to File Manager

I tried disabling wake lock, I went 30+ hours without a reboot, but during that time gmail did notwork reliably.
